Qualcomm Technologies and Tata Electronics have partnered extensively to build Qualcomm car Modules in Assam, India, in an effort to cater to the growing market demand for modular car systems across the world.
Under this agreement, Qualcomm Technologies will be expanding its global network of module supplier partnerships to include Tata Electronics.
Production of Qualcomm's Automotive Module products is planned to take place at Tata Electronics' new semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) plant in Jagiroad, Assam, in line with India's "Make in India" strategy.
The alliance will be beneficial to both Indian and international manufacturers by localizing the creation of automotive technology utilized in digital cockpits, infotainment systems, connectivity solutions, and smart vehicle platforms.

Nakul Duggal, EVP and Group GM, Automotive, Industrial and Embedded IoT, and Robotics at Qualcomm Technologies, said, “The partnership with Tata Electronics represents a significant step in our automotive growth strategy. As the sector moves rapidly towards integrated, module-based architectures, expanding manufacturing capacity in strategically important regions is becoming increasingly critical.”
Savi Soin, Senior Vice President and President of Qualcomm India, said, “Manufacturing in India through Tata Electronics will strengthen our ability to serve both Indian and global original equipment manufacturers with enhanced flexibility and greater supply chain resilience.”

Randhir Thakur, CEO and MD of Tata Electronics, said, “The collaboration aligns with our ambition to emerge as a global hub for high-technology manufacturing and to serve as a trusted partner for leading semiconductor and automotive customers worldwide.” He added, “Tata Electronics will deploy its Integrated Systems Packaging (ISP) capabilities to deliver high-quality, high-performance products in support of Qualcomm Technologies’ global product leadership.”
