Karnataka Minister M B Patil on Monday handed over runway cleaning vehicles developed by Bengaluru-based Anlon Technology Solutions Limited to Noida International Airport Limited, marking a major step for indigenous airport infrastructure manufacturing. The handover underscores the growing role of Indian engineering firms in delivering high-value, safety-critical equipment for aviation.
According to officials, the machines are claimed to be the country’s first indigenously manufactured runway cleaning vehicles.
Built under the Government of India’s Make in India initiative, the vehicles were developed in collaboration with Switzerland-based Bucher Municipal and assembled at Anlon’s manufacturing facility in Adinarayanahosahalli near Doddaballapur. Keys to two vehicles were formally handed over to Noida airport representative Pradeep Rana.

In a statement from the minister’s office, the vehicles were described as essential safety assets for modern airports. “The vehicles are designed to remove nails and sharp metal fragments from runways that could pose a risk to aircraft tyres. They also vacuum dust and clear algae that could cause aircraft to skid during landing,” the statement said.
Patil, who oversees large and medium industries, said companies like Anlon form the backbone of India’s industrial supply chain. He noted that beyond runway cleaning vehicles, Anlon also manufactures street-sweeping machines, reflecting the depth of domestic engineering capability.
He urged the company to tap government policies and Karnataka’s supportive industrial ecosystem to explore export markets. Patil added that the State’s Industrial Policy (2025-30) would back such manufacturers with targeted assistance and incentives, especially for quality certification, to help Indian-made airport equipment compete globally.
