ACME Solar has commissioned a 142.67 MW / 481.49 MWh BESS project in Rajasthan, marking a key step in the company’s push to strengthen large-scale battery energy storage system capacity in India.
The newly operational BESS project is designed to store electricity and release it when demand rises, helping stabilize the grid and improve the reliability of renewable energy. With this commissioning, ACME Solar has taken another step toward expanding its clean energy infrastructure while supporting India’s transition toward flexible power supply.
The ACME Solar BESS project in Rajasthan forms part of a much larger storage pipeline planned by the company. The broader initiative includes multiple battery installations with a combined capacity of about 585 MW / 2,011.24 MWh, which will be developed through different project entities.

Battery storage plays a critical role in modern renewable energy systems. Solar and wind generation fluctuate depending on weather conditions and time of day. A large battery energy storage system allows developers to store surplus electricity produced during periods of high generation and dispatch it later during peak consumption hours. This improves grid stability and ensures that clean power remains available even when renewable generation dips.
The ACME Solar BESS project in Rajasthan also reflects the rising focus on energy storage across India’s renewable sector. As solar and wind capacity continues to grow rapidly, large battery installations are becoming essential for managing power supply and balancing the grid.
ACME Solar has been expanding its renewable portfolio across solar, wind, hybrid projects, and storage solutions. The company continues to invest in advanced renewable energy storage infrastructure to deliver firm and dispatchable clean power to the grid.
With the latest commissioning, the company strengthens its presence in Rajasthan, one of India’s largest renewable energy hubs, while advancing the role of battery storage in supporting reliable green power delivery.
