Tata Group is set to invest over $2.9 billion in a major expansion across Karnataka, aiming to enhance its presence and create more job opportunities in the state.
Chairman of Tata Advanced Systems, Banmali Agrawala, met with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to discuss the upcoming projects, which will span sectors like semiconductors, aviation, renewable energy, and defence manufacturing.
With over 1.36 lakh employees already working across 27 Tata companies in Karnataka, the group has contributed more than $5 billion in investments to the region. This latest announcement will further solidify Tata’s role as one of the largest direct employers in the state. Companies like TCS, Tata Motors, and Tata Consumer Products continue to generate significant direct and indirect employment.

Among the major projects, Tata will set up India’s first southern aviation MRO hub in partnership with Air India and Tata Advanced Systems, with an investment of $455 million. TCS will also build a new 25,000-seat campus in Whitefield, while Tata Electronics will expand its semiconductor assembly and test facilities. Other initiatives include a 2,500 MW renewable energy capacity project and an H125 helicopter final assembly line.
