Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a top Indian IT company, has teamed up with The Warehouse Group (TWG), one of New Zealand’s biggest retail chains, for a multi-year deal to revamp its tech systems. This partnership could save TWG up to $40 million over five years by modernizing its operations and boosting efficiency across its stores.
The deal focuses on simplifying TWG’s tech setup, clearing out outdated systems, and improving how the company runs its day-to-day operations. TCS will use its AI-powered tools, like TCS Omnistore™ and TCS Optumera™, to streamline everything from store management to pricing and supply chains. This will help TWG make the most of its current tech investments while delivering better experiences for customers.
“We are proud to be a strategic partner to The Warehouse Group for this pivotal phase of transformation,” said Girish Ramachandran, President of Growth Markets at TCS. “Our global retail expertise and AI-driven solutions will empower TWG to achieve operational excellence and deliver enhanced customer experiences.”
Mark Stirton, TWG’s Group CEO, added, “This collaboration allows us to unlock greater value from our technology investments, building on our cost optimization initiatives to drive sustainable growth.”
Tata Consultancy Services has been operating in New Zealand over the years, collaborating with large retail operations across the globe, and creating innovation in the form of programs such as its Co-Innovation Network ™ (COIN ™). The company was also a contributor to 2022 Asia Pacific Digital Sustainability Index which displayed its interest in the development of tech in the region.
The agreement is part of the expanding portfolio of retailer alliances that TCS has made with other partners in the recent past such as Denmark- based Salling Group and the UK- based Sainsbury. With the aid of innovative data analytics and AI, TCS will transform the operations of TWG by making them flexible and efficient to enable the retailer remain competitive in a rapidly evolving industry.
