Spark Minda Green Mobility Systems, a subsidiary of Minda Corporation, has entered into a joint venture with UK-based Turntide Drives to develop next-generation electric vehicle powertrain solutions. The newly formed company, Spark Minda Turntide Pvt Ltd, reflects a strategic push to strengthen India’s fast-growing electric mobility sector.
The joint venture was officially incorporated on April 11, 2026, following an agreement signed between the two companies in March. By combining Turntide’s global technology expertise with Spark Minda’s strong manufacturing base in India, the partnership aims to deliver efficient and cost-effective EV components manufacturing tailored for the domestic market.
Under the structure of the venture, Turntide will hold a 51% stake, while Spark Minda Green Mobility Systems will own the remaining 49%. The board will include five directors, ensuring balanced leadership and a clear focus on automotive innovation India.
The new entity will focus on producing critical EV powertrain components such as motor controllers, axial flux motors, and thermal management systems. These technologies play a key role in improving vehicle efficiency, performance, and overall reliability—factors essential for wider EV adoption.

A major advantage of this collaboration is the transfer of advanced technology and technical know-how from Turntide. This will help accelerate product development while supporting EV technology localisation, reducing reliance on imports, and strengthening India’s EV supply chain.
