The electric mobility industry in India is all poised to receive a significant lift off as more than 200 domestic passenger car producers and global EV players plan to attend the 11th edition of the India Energy Storage Week (IESW) 2025, to be held in New Delhi, between July 8 10, at the Yashobhoomi Convention and Expo Centre, New Delhi. Hosted by the India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA), the event will likely become central to boosting the Indian electric vehicle (EV) production targets.
India is already amongst the biggest markets of electric two-wheelers (e-2W) and electric three-wheelers (e-3W), and is currently focusing on expanding electric four-wheelers (e-4W) in order to establish its position as a global EV presence further. The event fits into this vision that is further enhanced by schemes such as the SPMEPCI scheme (Scheme to Promote Manufacturing of Electric Passenger Cars in India) to promote investment and innovation in the segment.
“SPMEPCI strikes a strategic balance between custom duty concessions linked to investment, defined Domestic Value addition milestones, and the inclusion of the scope of Engineering Research & Development, Software, Testing, and Charging Infrastructure,” said Gurusharan Dhillon, Director of eMobility, CES.
