Namo Bharat could take on a new role in India’s logistics network. Blue Dart Express Limited and the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) are exploring the movement of express parcels through the Delhi–Ghaziabad–Meerut corridor.
The two organizations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to examine how regional rail connectivity could be linked with Blue Dart’s pickup and delivery network.
The proposed model would combine Namo Bharat’s regional rail services with Blue Dart’s existing logistics capabilities. The organizations will assess parcel volumes, station facilities, operational requirements, service standards and commercial arrangements before deciding the feasibility of the proposed service.
The 82-km Delhi–Ghaziabad–Meerut corridor connects key areas across the National Capital Region. Its Sarai Kale Khan station is linked with Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station and the inter-state bus terminal, while Anand Vihar station connects with Anand Vihar railway station and two inter-state bus terminals.
These intermodal connections could provide access to major transport hubs as well as nearby business and residential areas. Under the proposed model, Blue Dart could explore how parcels collected through its existing network could be integrated with regional rail connectivity. However, the service will only move forward if operational feasibility and commercial agreements are established between the two organizations.
Shalabh Goel, Managing Director, NCRTC, said the collaboration could help explore how new-age regional rail infrastructure can also support the freight ecosystem. He added that Namo Bharat has already improved access to jobs, education, healthcare and affordable housing across the region.
Pablo Ciano, CEO, DHL eCommerce Division, said India is an important growth market for DHL eCommerce and that Blue Dart’s service quality and network are central to serving customers. He said the collaboration provides an opportunity to examine how regional rail connectivity could add value for customers in the NCR.

For Blue Dart, the MoU represents an opportunity to examine whether Namo Bharat can complement its existing pickup and delivery capabilities. The company will work with NCRTC to identify areas where the proposed approach could support businesses while contributing to more sustainable logistics solutions.
Balfour Manuel, Managing Director, Blue Dart Express Ltd., said reliable delivery depends on how different parts of a shipment’s journey work together. He added that the company will examine how Namo Bharat’s regional connectivity could be integrated with Blue Dart’s logistics capabilities.
Blue Dart serves more than 56,400 locations across India and is part of DHL Group’s DHL eCommerce division. The company provides express delivery, freight forwarding, supply chain solutions, customs clearance and other distribution services. Through the DHL network, it serves more than 220 countries and territories.
The proposed partnership could therefore create a new possibility for combining regional rail infrastructure with established express logistics. However, the movement of parcels through the corridor remains subject to further assessment and agreements between Blue Dart and NCRTC.
