According to a senior executive on Thursday, logistics would become the most lucrative division of the diversified PSU Balmer Lawrie & Company.
Adhip Nath Palchaudhuri, chairman and managing director of Balmer Lawrie, stated during a virtual press conference that the logistics vertical will account for 45–50% of the PSU's total income by 2030, which is expected to reach Rs 6,000 crore. According to the CMD, the PSU anticipates reaching revenue of Rs 3,000 crore this fiscal year.
According to him, the current fiscal year's first quarter has been extremely successful. Things have been going nicely in the second quarter. Within the logistics sector, the company has entered into railway logistics with three rakes in full deployment, and Balmer Lawrie has executed an MOU with SAIL to this effect.

Balmer Lawrie has commenced a third-party logistics business for which a warehousing facility has been commissioned at Dankuni just outside the metropolis of Kolkata, which would serve as a hub for the eastern zone, he said. There are also plans to set up similar hubs in the other zones.
He stated that a cold chain facility will also be established in Dankuni. The firm is likewise involved in operating container freight stations.
Palchaudhuri said that the travel and vacations vertical has remained consistently resilient in the face of challenges, like the Pahalgam terrorist incident.
