In modern industrial manufacturing, power distribution and plant control have traditionally operated as separate disciplines. Power engineers focused on switchgear, transformers, and physical busbars, while automation specialists managed programmable logic controllers (PLCs), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, and field instrumentation.
When these two domains meet without proper coordination during project execution, industrial plants often experience communication interface gaps, delayed commissioning schedules, and unoptimized energy efficiency.
To maintain electrical reliability across heavy-duty industrial applications, Vertex follows strict quality protocols governed by an ISO 9001:2015 framework, supported by CPRI, CE, and ZED certifications. Vertex also operates as an Authorized Channel Partner and System House for Siemens Germany, utilizing German-engineered circuit breakers for its 11 kilovolt and 33 kilovolt medium-voltage, Protection Relays, RTU, SCADA & ELECTRIFICATION-X offerings. Quality assurance is maintained through strict Factory Acceptance Testing, where every system is thoroughly vetted before release.
Vertex Group of Companies was founded to eliminate this divide. Spearheaded by Founder and CEO Ashish Kumar Srivastava, the organization has spent over two decades developing a single-window engineering model that unifies heavy power distribution with intelligent industrial automation. Today, through Vertex Automation System Pvt. Ltd. and Vertex Power Controls Pvt. Ltd., the group manufactures Medium-Voltage (MV), Low-Voltage (LV), Control and Relay (C&R), and Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) panels, delivering comprehensive protection, control, and monitoring solutions.
The group with an in-house team of expert engineers and its role as a Siemens SAS Partner, also integrates SCADA and Substation Automation System (SAS) solutions, enabling end-to-end control, monitoring, and automation. In addition, it executes turnkey High-Tension (HT) substation projects up to 132 kV and implements complex digital industrial solutions across India, while steadily expanding its presence in international markets.
Two Decades of Engineering Leadership
The foundation of Vertex Group's engineering-first philosophy stems directly from the professional background of its founder. Ashish Kumar Srivastava holds a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and has accumulated over 30 years of hands-on industry experience. Ashish began his career in the late nineties at Schneider Electric India, spending more than eight years in industrial automation technical support.
Operating across India, Nepal, and Bangladesh, he established channel networks, supported critical industrial accounts, and led the technical implementation of supervisory control across ten North Delhi Power Limited substations, an achievement formally recognized by corporate management.
In 2004, Ashish transitioned from corporate technical leadership to entrepreneurship, establishing Vertex with a clear focus on core engineering capabilities over simple turnover. Reflecting on this founding philosophy, Ashish notes, “In 2004, I left the company and decided to start my company with the name of Vertex, to build an engineering company capable of solving a real industrial problem rather than simply supplying equipment.
Over the years, this approach has enabled us to develop deep technical expertise and strong problem-solving capabilities. Our focus has never been solely on generating turnover through equipment sales; it has always been on establishing Vertex as a true engineering company.”
Outside his entrepreneurial responsibilities, Ashish is an avid golfer, badminton player, and traveler, disciplines that reflect the high energy and structured focus he brings to managing a multi-faceted engineering enterprise.
Manufacturing and Quality Engineering Capabilities
Vertex's journey over the past two decades illustrates a deliberate expansion up the industrial electrical value chain. The company began as a System Integration specializing in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI), Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition Systems (SCADA), Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), Servo Drives, and Special- Purpose Machines (SPM).
Recognizing that Automation System require reliable Power Distribution to function seamlessly, the company established Vertex Power Controls Private Limited in 2006 to manufacture low-voltage switchboards and later-on medium-voltage switchboards in collaboration with SIEMENS.
Describing this thorough quality protocol, Ashish explains, “When I founded Vertex in 2004, the objective was not simply to build an equipment-trading business. I wanted to create an engineering company capable of solving real industrial problems. That philosophy continues to shape how we invest in people, manufacturing and technical capability. Quality is built into the process before the product reaches the customer.
Our systems undergo internal testing and Factory Acceptance Testing, and wherever required, customers participate in the FAT before dispatch. Our objective is not simply to pass an inspection, but to ensure reliable performance at site. Our next phase is to take the engineering capabilities we have built in India into selected international markets, while moving further into intelligent power distribution, substation automation and digital industrial systems.”
Comprehensive Project Execution and Delivery
Leveraging its combined Panel Manufacturing and Automation expertise, Vertex expanded into turnkey electrical execution, constructing Air Insulated Substations, Gas Insulated Substations, transmission lines, and automated switching stations up to 132 kilovolts.
A landmark project highlighting Vertex Group's engineering capabilities was executed for Pacific Iron Manufacturing Limited, involving the complete engineering, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of a 132 kilovolt Main Receiving Substation along with 11 kilovolt indoor panels, protection equipment, neutral grounding resistors, tariff metering, and a complete Substation Automation System.
By keeping Engineering, Panel Manufacturing (MV, LV, C&R and RTU), and automation software engineering within one organization, Vertex reduces coordination interfaces between multiple specialist vendors and creates clearer project accountability. The Pacific Iron 132 kV integrated substation was completed and commissioned in approximately eight months.
Explaining how close collaboration and safety protocols made this speed possible, Ashish states, “All kinds of safety measures are being considered at the site also, like safety belts, helmets, and safety shoes, and all kinds of safety protocols are being monitored by dedicated safety supervisor at sites. We define the schedule of the project, and as per the schedule, our team works from procurement to execution; they work very closely together to execute the job.”
Beyond heavy industrial projects, Vertex Group's systems operate across diverse sectors, including automotive manufacturing for Maruti Suzuki, Honda Cars, and Tata Motors, public utility projects for DVVNL, UPCL, RRUVNL, UPPCL, MMPTL, DHBVN as well as commercial assignments for clients such as Jindal Steel and Power, NLMK, Hindustan Unilever, Havells, Toyo Ink, and Jaypee Associates, Wave, ATS Home Craft and more.
Smart Automation and Global Vision
As industrial plants move toward Industry 4.0, electrical infrastructure must evolve from simple power distribution equipment into connected, data-generating assets. Vertex addresses this transition through both hardware and software digitalization. The company integrates Protection Intelligent Electronic Devices, digital power meters, and Remote Terminal Units across industrial panels using standard communication protocols such as IEC 61850, Modbus, and DNP3, enabling plant supervisors to monitor single-line diagrams, event logs, fault waveforms, and real-time power metrics from central control rooms.
The group has also developed internal energy monitoring software and a custom enterprise resource planning system to streamline operations, task management, and project execution.
Looking ahead, Vertex Group is focusing on expanding its geographical presence beyond India while deepening its technological capabilities in Gas Insulated Switchgear and intelligent power management. Emphasizing this international growth trajectory, Ashish shares, “Now we are moving towards surrounding countries like Nepal, Bhutan, and all that. For the Power Sector, we have agreed that we'll get good orders from Nepal.

So two or three customers we have already tapped in Nepal. Then, for certain Automation Products Products, we have sent to Russia & Dubai also. So now we are looking for a broader distance also for power and distance segments”. Through this expansion, Vertex continues to solidify its position as a global integrated power and automation engineering partner.
The firm understand both the power side and the control side of an industrial plant. “Our ambition is not simply to manufacture more panels. It is to engineer increasingly intelligent electrical systems where power distribution, protection, automation and digital visibility work as one system. We want customers to come to Vertex not simply because they need equipment, but because they need an engineering partner who understands how the complete system must perform in the real world”, signs off Ashish Kumar Srivastava, Founder & CEO.
