India’s industrial noise control sector is poised for strong growth over the next five years, driven by industrial expansion and technological progress. Industrial silencers address exhaust noise but form part of a wider ecosystem that also manages mechanical noise.
In parallel, there is rapid growth in the diesel genset industry as well which is led by expanding data centers. Although, companies face challenges in navigating complex compliance laws and reducing noise without compromising equipment performance, yet excessive sound control can undermine operational efficiency.
By specializing in engineered acoustic solutions for the genset and industrial equipment sectors, Escon Gensets bridges the gap between compliance, performance, and reliability.
Carving a Niche for Itself
The company primarily serves the genset industry and offers a comprehensive range of acoustic solutions, including containerized, integrated, and drop down enclosures. It also designs noise control solutions for large industrial rooms housing multiple machines, covering capacities from small 10 kVA gensets to single enclosures rated up to 3,500 kVA. In fact, projects have included large installations with up to 14 gensets in the 2,000 to 2,500 kVA range.
Beyond gensets, the company provides silencing solutions for other industrial equipment such as compressors and glass crushing machines. Escon differentiates itself through a strong engineering driven approach, with design guidance from Professor (Dr.) M.L. Munjal, a respected international authority in acoustics.
Furthermore, advanced 3D modeling and virtual pressure testing ensure robust fabrication, while special corrosion resistant solutions support coastal and offshore applications.
In total, the company follows strict engineering methodologies with detailed design calculations and now exports acoustic enclosures that meet global quality standards.
Client-Centric Approach
Escon supplies static acoustic equipment with no moving parts, so routine after-sales service and maintenance are not required. Reliability depends on high-quality fabrication during manufacturing.
When clients face specific operational issues, Escon provides direct technical support, including site visits and problem resolution. Additionally, the company customizes designs based on site-specific challenges to ensure optimal performance.
Clients often approach the company to resolve performance issues with systems supplied by other vendors. This expertise and high-quality performance have led to a strong base of repeat customers.
“Product success rests on three fundamentals: effective sound attenuation, properly engineered ventilation, and uncompromising fabrication standards.
Together, these principles define our approach to technical excellence and long term client satisfaction,” states Prashant Dhandhania, Managing Director at Escon Gensets.

Building Today for a Better Tomorrow
Founded in 1985 in a modest 500-square foot shed, the company’s acoustic business has grown steadily over the years.. The company’s entry into acoustics was driven by telecom operators’ demand for soundproof genset boxes during the early telecom expansion in India. At that time, no domestic manufacturers existed, and Escon developed technical expertise in-house.
Currently, the company manufactures around 300 mid-sized acoustic enclosures per month. Demand, particularly from data centers, exceeds capacity, with order books fully committed up to September of next year.
Escon currently operates two manufacturing units with a combined area of 100,000 square feet and is undertaking the development of a state of-the-art 140,000 square foot facility, featuring advanced automation and scalable infrastructure, expected to be operational by 2028.
The company is also building advanced in-house testing and sound simulation capabilities. In parallel, it is executing a globally first project achieving nearly 60 dB noise reduction for a large genset, to be tested at a luxury hotel in New Delhi, with potential to redefine industry standards and drive global demand.
