The Volkswagen has started to assemble its much-anticipated Tayron R-Line SUV in Pune in India. This is a major move by the German car manufacturer as it is now manufacturing the model at the local plant to increase its markets in India. This will be included in the strategy of VW to satisfy the increasing needs of premium SUV in India at a competitive price.
The Tayron R- Line, which is a powerful variant of the successful Tayron SUV offers numerous luxury and comfort features. It features a 2.0 liter turbocharged petrol engine which delivers reasonable power as well as a 4Motion all-wheel-drive system.

The R-Line has a reputation of sporty appearance, bold front grill and sharp lines. The car has technology, comfort and convenience in form of the interior. The audible equipment is high-quality, the cockpit is digital, and it has a variety of high-tech driver-assistance systems.
Commenting on the launch, Piyush Arora, Managing Director of Volkswagen India, said, “With the local assembly of the Tayron R-Line, we are confident of expanding our presence in the Indian premium SUV segment.” The company aims to strengthen its position by offering locally produced vehicles, making them more affordable for Indian consumers.
This is an indication that Volkswagen is serious about India as a market and plans to introduce additional models in the near future.
