Tata AutoComp Systems has achieved a major advance by teaming up with Katcon Global to create advanced composites for the North American market. The purpose of this joint effort is to develop lightweight applications for automobiles, commercial vehicles, tractors, off-road vehicles, and other specialized sectors.
Katcon Global is an internationally known supplier of exhaust systems, thermal insulation, and advanced materials, and has 11 manufacturing plants and five technology centers in eight nations. For a decade, Tata AutoComp and Katcon have worked together on exhaust systems and emission treatment, and now they are joining to develop advanced composites.
Tata AutoComp will contribute its well-known technological skills and customer connections, and Katcon will offer excellent operations, knowledge of rules and regulations, and strong local execution. Both companies are using this partnership to support their goal of growing worldwide and producing sustainable advanced materials.
Arvind Goel, Vice Chairman of Tata AutoComp Systems Ltd, said, "It is the first time we are entering a partnership where we are contributing the core technology, what we see as a reverse model compared to our previous alliances. Our composite division brings proprietary technology, including patented formulations and in-house capabilities for composite compounds and sheet manufacturing."
Carlos Turner, CEO of Katcon, added, "By combining Katcon's advanced composite technologies with Tata AutoComp's deep industry expertise, we are well-positioned to deliver innovative, lightweight solutions that address the evolving needs of the North American automotive market."
This partnership will tackle the increasing need for eco-friendly and lighter items in North America's automotive industry.
