Swiss​​​​​​ technology leader Sulzer, which is serving the energy, water, and chemical process industries worldwide, has opened its Global Business Services (GBS) Hub in Pune, to further its commitment to India.
The new hub is a vital part of Sulzer's worldwide engineering network that not only supports IT but also other essential functions such as Legal, Compliance, and supply chain management. The center in Pune will have a staff strength of 350 people.
Sulzer has been in India since 1988, when it set up local manufacturing and service centers. The company’s Indian activities are divided into pump manufacturing and providing services to rotating equipment in Mumbai and Ambernath, manufacturing advanced separation and purification equipment in Pune, and setting up sophisticated service centers for turbomachinery and pumps in Vadodara and Chennai.
The Pune hub comes under Sulzer’s Business Services Initiative, which aims at consolidating the essential functions, facilitating the smooth performance of operations, and easing scalability.

The presence of a highly skilled workforce, the city’s modern facilities, and its location at the heart of India’s industrial ecosystem were the reasons for Pune being selected. By using cutting-edge technology and international standards, the hub intends to raise the quality and efficiency of Sulzer operations all over the world.
