Shell India has declared its partnership with Gentari Green Mobility India as a dedicated strategy to get more accessibility to electric vehicle (EV) charging across the country. This partnership has been effective since July 10. The merger places more than 450 chargers in common access that offering an immense increase to public AV charging infrastructure in India.
The collaboration is meant to make EV charging easy to understand by making it interoperable with ease. Gentari presently provides access to over 5,000 charging points in India, Malaysia, and Thailand, with over 3,000 points available in India.
Nikhil Thomas, CEO, Gentari Green Mobility India, stressed that this partnership will facilitate the development of technologically focused, scalable charging solutions with the help of strategic locations available at Shell. “We are creating a clean mobility ecosystem around user needs together.”

The project will enhance EV infrastructure in major cities, particularly in western and southern India, where EV popularity is skyrocketing. The charger status, specifications, as well as compatibility data that will now be availed in real-time via the Gentari Go app, making the experience of EV drivers smooth.
Sanjay Varkey, Director at Shell Mobility India, said, “we have collaborated to provide convenience and interoperability to the EV users. We are enabling an effortless charging process with the fast chargers of Shell and the availability of Gentari.”
The switching points of Shell are universal and can work with any kind of E-vehicle and are equipped with retail, food, and drinks options so that users can have a richer experience.
The step is also consistent with the strategy of both companies to make mobility more sustainable and helps achieve the targets of India to move towards electric vehicles.
