ReNew Energy Global has marked a major milestone in India’s clean energy transition by adding a record 2.4 GW renewable capacity in FY26. This is the company’s highest-ever annual addition, reflecting both strong execution and growing demand for renewable energy in India.
With this expansion, ReNew’s total installed renewable capacity has reached around 12.6 GW portfolio, even after selling about 600 MW of assets during the year. The achievement strengthens its position as one of India’s leading green energy companies and highlights its consistent growth strategy.
Most of the newly added capacity comes from solar power projects, which contributed about 1.75 GW. Wind energy capacity accounted for around 0.62 GW, while the company also added a 25 MW/100 MWh battery energy storage systems (BESS). This mix shows ReNew’s focus on not just generating clean energy, but also improving reliability through storage solutions.
