Hindustan Zinc Limited, the largest integrated zinc manufacturer, and global silver leader, has launched the first low-carbon zinc brand in Asia, which is called EcoZen.
EcoZen establishes a new standard of clean metal production in India and elsewhere with more than 75% of the emissions than conventional zinc.
EcoZen is produced using renewable energy and has a certification of REACH. It supports the major growth areas of India, such as the automotive industries, renewable energy, and infrastructure to create more resilient supply chains that are cleaner. Each tonne of EcoZen will save approximately 400 kg of CO 2 in each tonne of steel in galvanizing, which provides manufacturers with an avenue to decarbonize their industries.
