Bondada Engineering has been awarded a project by AP TRANSCO (Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh) to develop a large scale standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project.
The order is a strategically significant milestone of the company as it allows developing a long-term stream of revenue based on annuities, which would strengthen the revenues and visibility of cash flows and predictable returns.
The initiative enhances Bondada Engineering to position itself in the dynamic Indian energy storage ecosystem, as state utilities are focusing on grid resilience and peak load control. This order is equivalent to the company having an almost 1 GWh cumulative BESS portfolio and has highlighted its increasing size and execution competencies in the segment.

Energy storage is also considered an essential facilitator to the renewable energy goals set by India, especially as the renewable generation component of solar and wind power in the generation mix increases. The role of standalone BESS projects is likely to be at the forefront of balancing the supply-demand variability and limiting reliance on the traditional peaking sources of power.
For Bondada Engineering, the AP TRANSCO project not only adds to its order book but also reinforces its role as a credible partner for state transmission utilities. As policy support and tender activity for storage projects gain momentum, the company is positioned to benefit from sustained opportunities in India’s energy transition, with predictable revenues and long-term growth visibility anchored in infrastructure-led annuity assets.
