Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL) has received an important assignment, worth Rs 1,660 crore, for an inter-state project in Maharashtra, highlighting its growing part in India’s green energy sector. The aim of the project is to deliver 1.5 GW of green power produced from new hydro storage plants in Raigad to neighborhoods in Mumbai, supporting a move toward cleaner energy in the western Indian region.
WRNES Talegaon Power Transmission Ltd, a newly formed special vehicle by AESL, will execute the development of the plan. They are creating around 3,000 megavolt-amperes (MVA) at the substation and also installing related transmission lines. The project should be commissioned by January 2028, according to AESL.
“This project marks a significant step toward enabling green energy access in western India,” AESL stated, highlighting the importance of supporting the region’s sustainable energy needs while addressing increasing electricity demand.
According to the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) method, this project was handled by REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL) in cooperation with the Government.
