As industrial systems become increasingly electronic, power quality has moved from a background utility concern to an operational imperative. CNC machines, robotics, data centres, automated production lines and other high-precision systems can be acutely sensitive to voltage disturbances, making even brief fluctuations capable of disrupting processes, damaging components and affecting productivity.
This shift has exposed the limitations of conventional power-conditioning technologies and created demand for faster, more responsive solutions built around the realities of modern electronic loads.
TSi Power was established in 2011 with a mandate to bring advanced power-conditioning technology to India’s increasingly electronic industrial landscape. From its Vadodara base, the company has expanded across manufacturing, indigenous technology development, R&D and pan-India service.
Its journey has taken it from an initial 45 KVA range to high-capacity systems, supported by an indigenous VRP platform, an all-India sales network, India-based R&D and dedicated high-capacity manufacturing. In 2021, TSi Power was recognised by CII among the ‘69 Greatest Factories of Gujarat’. As the company marks 15 years in 2026, it has added 400 KVA models, a new manufacturing unit, new product launches and an authorised ABB channel partnership for critical power-conditioning solutions, strengthening its position in the industrial power-quality market.
Engineering Power Conditioning for Modern Loads
TSi Power was incorporated in February 2011 as a joint venture with TSI Power Corporation, USA. Its VRP platform was subsequently developed indigenously, with commercial production beginning within the same year. A pan-India sales network followed in 2013, while the company established its Indian R&D operation in 2015 to develop common technology platforms with TSI-USA.
The underlying problem was increasingly evident. Conventional power-conditioning systems could take one or two seconds to respond to a disturbance, while electronic equipment can react adversely within a fraction of that time. TSi's static PWM technology reduces the correction window to a maximum of few milliseconds.
“Modern machines need power quality to be corrected on a real-time basis. Conventional technologies take one or two seconds; we correct it within 20 milliseconds”, says Ashish Mittal, Director, TSi Power.
TSi consequently does not treat stabilisation as a standardised equipment purchase. Its teams conduct load studies and power audits to establish the nature of the disturbance and the requirements of the connected equipment before determining the appropriate configuration.
That approach has produced solutions for conditions that standard equipment may not address. Its systems can operate without an input neutral and, in specific configurations, continue functioning when one incoming phase is lost—particularly useful for petrol pumps and installations where supply conditions are inconsistent.
Field Data Drives Product Development
TSi's product development is closely connected to its service operations. Fifteen years of field installations have generated application data across sectors, allowing the company to identify recurring power-quality issues and translate them into targeted solutions.
The progression in capability is substantial. From its initial 45 KVA range, TSi moved into high-capacity manufacturing in 2018 and now offers systems up to 400 KVA. Its deep-sag technology has likewise progressed from 20 percent voltage-drop correction to 26 percent , 30 percent and, in current development, up to 40 percent.
The resulting portfolio is deliberately application-led. Achal was developed for CNC machines and robotics; Knightingale addresses home entertainment, high-end audio and home theatres; SFCube provides deep-sag correction for demanding applications including automotive manufacturing and data centres. TSi has also developed specialised solutions for engineering and process industries, solar plants, textile, data centres, auto & auto ancillary and defence applications, including a deep-sag solution for GPU equipment at Goa airport.
“The wealth of data collected by our service team gives us a clear view of what different industries actually need. We analyse that data and customise our products accordingly”, says Rajesh Nandan Pande, Managing Director, TSi Power.
The same R&D pipeline is now moving towards 300 KVA deep-sag compensation, with capability to address voltage drops of up to 40 percent.
Reliability Extends Beyond the Product
TSi's quality system begins before manufacturing. The company evaluates suppliers of electronics, control cards, transformers and cabinets on quality rather than price, followed by controlled assembly, inspection and testing. Every new design and capacity undergoes detailed in-house heat-run and type testing before commercialisation, with critical validation also conducted through facilities such as ERDA, Vadodara.
Its service model adds another layer of technical oversight. A pan-India service team responds to requests within 24 hours and examines the complete electrical environment around an installation—not merely the TSi equipment. Grounding, neutral supply, loading, connections and installation conditions can all affect machine performance, and identifying those factors helps customers address the actual cause of a failure.
That technical involvement has strengthened customer confidence as well as product reliability. TSi has progressively extended its on-site warranty to four years.
Its No Obligation Trial tackles a different challenge: proving an unfamiliar technology. Customers can install a TSi unit free of charge for 30 days, evaluate its impact on machine performance and return it unconditionally if dissatisfied. The arrangement lets measured performance, rather than a sales pitch, establish the case for adoption.
TSi's products also contribute to energy efficiency by maintaining the power conditions under which equipment operates most efficiently. Its manufacturing processes incorporate responsible electronic production and recycling of electronic waste, extending that focus into its own operations.
Building for the Next Power-Quality Frontier
TSi Power’s next phase of R&D is focused on a harder power-quality problem: deeper voltage sags, greater grid variability and the need for real-time diagnostics. Its development pipeline reflects that shift, with technologies designed to extend both the depth and intelligence of power conditioning.
“Our future power-quality needs will require both real-time voltage deep-sag compensation and reactive power compensation. We are continuously working on solutions to meet these needs on demand”, adds Ashish Mittal.
The company is developing deep-sag compensators up to 300 KVA, capable of correcting voltage drops of up to 40 percent. Its R&D team is also developing IoT-based measurement, control and diagnostic systems that will enable remote monitoring and, ultimately, online control through a VPN. REM, another imminent launch, will add a fully India-manufactured power analyser with built-in IoT capability, allowing users to monitor power quality remotely and identify disturbances with greater precision. These developments extend TSi Power’s role from correcting power disturbances to providing greater visibility into their occurrence and impact.
Its ABB partnership adds another dimension to this roadmap. As ABB’s first channel partner in India for its critical-power products, TSi Power can now serve requirements extending to 3,600 KVA, complementing its own product range and strengthening its ability to address the wider voltage-regulation and sag-compensation market.
With export markets also opening up, TSi Power is entering its next phase with a broader technology range and a sharper R&D focus: deeper correction, intelligent monitoring and solutions built for increasingly demanding power environments.
