A walk across India’s connectivity map shows a market growing in size but still struggling with uneven access. Many European and Asian nations have wider use of advanced wireless gear, while India continues to face gaps in equipment reach, licensing delays, and field-level performance. High-end tools remain limited to mines, large industries, and premium hospitality spaces, leaving a vast consumer segment yet to benefit from stronger and smarter wireless support.
Amid these on-ground realities, NPC Wireless has built its place, moving steadily from a modest beginning to a company known for solving tough communication problems. It began in 2013 after evolving from National Power Conversion, and switched its emphasis entirely on wireless equipment the following year. It has since carved a niche of its own with practical solutions that operate in challenging environments, and has continuously pushed towards improved coverage, better signal strength, and reliable communication devices.
Its offerings include CB radios on 27 MHz and 446 MHz bands, specialized antennas such as folded dipoles and GP models, and systems used across aviation, marine routes, and ground communication locations. Although India is yet to be organized into manufacturing these niche components, the company has taken that as an opportunity to build deeper technical strength and fill the gaps that many users face.
Our engineers and technicians undertake tasks which most companies find too complex, such as communication between tunnels and open grounds, under water connections and networks within the harsh industrial locations
Turning Difficult Landscapes into Working Networks
Its work to a large extent is based on the problems that its clients experience. Its work is largely influenced by the struggles that clients face on a daily basis. Equipment licensing is often slowed than anticipated and the low power approval of PMR devices on the 446 MHz band has left the operators in mines or large plants with practically no operational range. This is where the pragmatism of the company comes into play. It is very attentive to the way signals act in the real spaces, not only on paper. “Our engineers and technicians undertake tasks which most companies find too complex, such as communication between tunnels and open grounds, under water connections and networks within the harsh industrial locations”, says Waqar Raj, Director, NPC Wireless.

Among the most impressive projects that it did was developing a GPRS connection for coal dumpers within Asia’s deepest mine in Chhattisgarh. Planning radio was very challenging due to the terrain, but the team was able to develop a network that was functional in daily operation. A similar commitment influenced its operations along the Indo-Tibet border, where it allowed mobile connectivity of a power project despite the closest cellular connection being three kilometers away. These illustrations give an idea of how the company approaches every issue: by integrating field experience with strong technical knowledge and the desire to modify designs till they work on the ground reality.
To add further, research and development sits at the center of its progress. The company researches the modern technologies and strives to reduce mistakes, enhance durability, and improve performance. It is also very supportive of customers post installation. Fast support, minimum downtime and capability to provide both online and in-person guidance, has contributed towards its development of a stable relationship with users who rely on quality communication on a daily basis. “This service focus has determined NPC’s long-term strategy as much as its work in engineering”, Waqar notes.
Its growth journey includes consistent milestones. In 2014, it earned a Certificate of Excellence from Tata Defense for supplying specialized antennas. The following year, it partnered with seven BSNL units in Kerala on GSM repeaters. It also temporarily offered consumer electronics like RF remote switches and sensor-based products over key online marketplaces. After 2020 it exited third-party portals and reverted to a dealer-based model with cleaner operations and fewer problems. At present, drones and fiber-optic equipment constitute a minor portion of the income, whereas wireless remains the focus of its activity. The company is now ready to increase its physical presence to Kolkata where it intends to develop the next wave of innovations.
Building Strength Through Innovation
Moving forward, NPC Wireless is crafting solutions that are connected to the broader change in connectivity. Its offerings encompass high-speed trap cameras to monitor wildlife, GPS navigation solutions in partnership with Garmin. It further offers wireless thermal video appliances for wildlife and defense teams, long-range data connections and mobile signal blockers to be used in examination halls. It is also venturing into defense-electronics projects. With India entering new fields of requirement shaped by IoT expansion, greater distances of connection, and smarter systems, the company is working toward the creation of tools that remain stable in the conditions where communication frequently collapses.
Its journey has been shaped by ground experience, careful engineering, and a belief that better connectivity begins with understanding where the gaps truly lie. The future will bring tougher sites, deeper networks, and new expectations, and the company is preparing to meet them with the same steady focus that has defined its path so far.
