Apple, CleanMax, and 150 MW renewable energy initiative have announced a major clean energy partnership in India, marking a significant step in the country’s renewable energy expansion.
The Apple-CleanMax partnership is expected to strengthen India’s green energy infrastructure while helping the technology giant move closer to its global carbon neutrality targets. Backed by an investment of nearly ₹100 crore, the project highlights the growing focus on sustainable energy solutions in India’s commercial and industrial sectors.
The initiative is being seen as one of Apple’s largest renewable energy commitments in the Indian market. Through the partnership, the companies aim to develop clean power capacity that can support industrial operations with greener electricity alternatives. The move also reflects the increasing importance of India in the global clean energy landscape, as multinational corporations continue to invest in clean energy investments across the country.

As part of the agreement, Apple India and CleanMax will jointly participate through a dedicated entity called Clean Max Taurus Private Limited. Reports suggest that CleanMax will hold a 51 per cent stake in the venture, while Apple India will own the remaining 49 per cent. The structure has been designed to support long-term renewable power development and commercial power distribution.
The 150 MW project is expected to include a mix of solar energy and hybrid renewable energy systems. Industry experts believe the partnership could encourage more global companies to explore clean energy investments in India, especially as businesses face rising pressure to reduce carbon emissions and meet sustainability commitments.
India’s renewable energy sector has been growing rapidly over the past few years, supported by strong policy measures and increasing private investment. The country has already crossed 283 GW of non-fossil fuel energy capacity and continues to move toward its target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.
Analysts say the Apple-CleanMax collaboration not only strengthens India’s renewable energy sector but also signals rising confidence among international companies in the country’s green energy future. The partnership is expected to contribute to cleaner industrial growth while supporting India’s broader energy transition and sustainability goals.
