Mitul Shah is steering Google Pixel toward a stronger foothold in India as the company ramps up accessibility, affordability, and after-sales support, backed by an expanded Make in India push.
Google Pixel’s latest stride includes manufacturing the Pixel 9a locally, marking a deeper commitment to the Indian market.
“Pixel's future in India is built on an uncompromising commitment to empower the nation through world-class technology… We are optimizing the supply chain to meet national demand more efficiently,” said Mitul Shah, MD, Devices and Services, Google India.
Dixon Technologies and Foxconn currently lead Pixel’s manufacturing in India, a move driven by Google’s push to diversify its supply chain amid global tariff pressures and geopolitical risks. While China remains a manufacturing giant, Google is widening its production footprint.

The company has made premium devices more reachable by teaming with HDFC, IDFC, and Bajaj Finance to offer attractive EMIs and exchange deals. Older models start around INR 24,995, while the newer Pixel 10 series begins at INR 79,999.
Shah stressed that Indian buyers look for value over price alone: “Our playbook is to balance supply-side efficiencies with clear, high-value differentiation.” This focus extends to non-metro markets, which he calls “strategic growth engines” fueled by rising digital research, financing adoption, and demand for premium features.
Google Pixel’s expansion spans an omnichannel model, the official Google Store, and more than 3,000 retail outlets. Strong after-sales backing—with exclusive walk-in centers and multi-brand repair hubs offering same-day service—has further boosted confidence.
The Pixel 10 series, powered by the Tensor G5 chip, has seen encouraging uptake since its August 2025 launch. Shah noted growing excitement around its AI features and camera upgrades, supported by smoother operations and broader availability.
