According to the Economic Survey of Maharashtra 2025-26, the state's economy is projected to grow 7.9 percent in 2025-26, against 7.4 percent for India.
Nominal GSDP is projected at Rs 51 lakh crore, roughly 14.3 percent of national GDP. The industry sector is projected to grow 5.7 percent, up from 4.3 percent. "Industry" here includes mining, construction and utilities as well as manufacturing, and these are advance estimates rather than final figures.
On investment, Maharashtra was the top state for FDI inflows between October 2019 and March 2025, with a 31 percent share. On exports, FIEO's analysis puts the state's 2024-25 exports at Rs 5,57,271 crore, second only to Gujarat.
The survey notes over 63.85 lakh registered MSME units employing 2.52 crore people.
