ZEISS, a global leader in optics and precision measurement technology, has opened its Quality Excellence Center (QEC) in Hyderabad, which is the seventh center of ZEISS in India and a major milestone for the company.
Being a state-of-the-art metrology and quality assurance systems facility of 4,500 sq. ft. and with a further 1,500 sq. ft. kept for expansion, the center was inaugurated by the single formal Praveen P. A., Director – Aerospace, Defense & Logistics, and Government of Telangana along with the senior ZEISS India leadership.
“The combination of automation and Industry 4.0 technology will define the manufacturing of the future. With its aerospace and medical device industries, Hyderabad is becoming a very attractive location for ZEISS,” said Aveen Padmaprabha, Business Head – Industrial Quality Solutions, ZEISS India & Neighboring Markets.
The Hatchabad QEC is also the place where one can find the complete range of ZEISS technologies such as CMMs, 3D scanners, X-ray systems, surface measurement tools, and Aerofoil software, to mention a few, which are meant to achieve the highest possible precision and to increase productivity in aerospace and advanced manufacturing.

Being the Technology Partner of Extension Center of Industrial Excellence, Praveen P. A. said that ZEISS’s move not only shows confidence in the region but also contributes to its transformation into a center of manufacturing excellence.
The QEC, in addition to its main role, will be a shared platform for industry, academia, and startups, where pay-per-use collaboration and R&D activities will be supported. Thus, the center is a step in line with ZEISS's big picture, represented by the long-term vision to support the evolving India innovation and manufacturing ecosystem, deeply rooted in the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives.
