Telangana is positioning itself as a global leader in the life sciences sector, with the ambitious goal of attracting $25 billion in investments and generating five lakh jobs by 2030.
The state's "Next-Gen Life Sciences Policy 2026-30," which was unveiled at the Davos, Switzerland, World Economic Forum, delivered this announcement. According to the policy, Telangana ought to appear among the top three life sciences hubs in the world.
The state, in fact, contributes nearly three percent of the world's vaccine manufacturing and 40 percent of India's pharmaceutical production, thereby becoming an important player in the global pharmaceutical arena. With more than 2,000 life sciences businesses, including top biotech and pharmaceutical companies, Telangana boasts a solid base that allows it to grow.

Key incentives offered under the policy include 100 percent reimbursement of stamp and transfer duties on sale and lease deeds, power subsidies, and 25 percent reimbursement of land costs, capped at Rs 10 lakh, for industrial parks developed by the state government.
Additionally, a 100 percent SGST reimbursement will be provided for five years from the commencement of commercial production.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy emphasized the state’s commitment to transforming its bioscience ecosystem, stating, "We are building one of the world’s most trusted and transformational bioscience ecosystems driving global health impact from Telangana."
The policy also outlines the establishment of 10 pharma villages, designed to decentralize the life sciences industry and foster innovation across regions.
