Jakson Engineers, a segment of the energy and infrastructure solutions conglomerate Jakson Group, revealed it would invest over ₹8,000 crore to set up an integrated solar manufacturing facility with a capacity of 6 GW in Madhya Pradesh.
This would be the largest solar manufacturing investment in the state and will enhance India's renewable energy capacity. The facility will be developed in Madhya Pradesh at Maksi Phase II on a 110-acre site and will be developed in two phases.
In Phase I, Jakson Engineers intends to invest about ₹2,000 crore toward a total of 3 GW of solar modules and 3 GW of solar cells, with the first modules expected in May 2026 and the first cells by September 2026. Phase II will include further investment of ₹6,000 crore to create a 6 GW solar wafer facility and an additional 3 GW of modules and 3 GW of cells.
“This is an important day for our company and a massive step forward for India’s renewable energy industry,” said Sundeep Gupta, Vice Chairman of Jakson Group.

Gagan Chanana, Joint Managing Director & CEO of Jakson Solar Modules and Cells, emphasized the company's four-pronged approach of manufacturing, development, EPC, and O&M to bring quality, reduce cost, and implement speed to technology.
The decision to locate the facility in Madhya Pradesh is due to its central location, established infrastructure, and national support of renewable energy initiatives. It is expected the facility will create over 1000 jobs during construction and will employ around 1400 people once opened.
Founded in 1947, Jakson Group has grown from a diesel generator manufacturing company to an energy conglomerate with capabilities in solar, distribution power, and clean energy solutions, with operations in India and abroad.
