IG Drones, a company from Odisha, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the government of Uttar Pradesh for establishing a facility for drone manufacturing and research & development at Uttar Pradesh Defence Corridor. This partnership is intended to advance the positioning of the state as the leading innovator for aerospace and defense in India.
As per the agreement, the UP administration will provide all-round assistance, which will include consents, licenses, and the advantage of both state and central incentives. The initiative will be in tune with India’s vision of turning self-sufficient in defense technology, besides being a means to the sector’s innovation, manufacturing, and employment.
“This MoU is not merely an agreement; it is the resolve for India’s self-reliance in defence technology,” said Bodhisattwa Sanghapriya, Founder and CEO of IG Drones. He indicated the successful experiments of the FPV Striker Drone at the Indo-China border as one of the instances of India’s technological independence.
Major General R. C. Padhi (Retd), Senior Vice President (R&D) at IG Drones, remarked on the demand for locally produced FPV drones which is going up all over the world and said that the new plant will be very important for increasing the production to the level required by the National Security.
