In a significant step towards digital integration, Indian Railways launched its all-in-one mobile platform, RailOne-a super app to bring together many railway services into a single user interface. RailOne, which was launched on July 1, aims to improve the passenger experience by offering many features, such as reservation and non-reservation ticket booking, live train tracking, PNR status, details on what platform a train leaves from, and e-catering.
RailOne combines features from existing apps like UTS, NTES, Rail Madad, and IRCTC Rail Connect. This reduces the number of apps a user has to download and the number of services they need to use. Additionally, passengers can refund tickets, raise complaints, and login to the integrated R-Wallet using biometric or mPIN. RailOne supports access for many users across India by being available in English and regional languages.
RailOne can be downloaded for both Android and iOS systems using a standard sign-on or simply as a guest using mobile OTP. While all services are consolidated into RailOne, IRCTC will continue to charge convenience fees for reserved ticket bookings.
