Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited has signed a landmark six-year pact with Genesys International Corporation Limited. The deal aims at providing advanced navigation and mapping technologies.
Genesys has committed to providing Tata Motors with low-resolution maps for in-car navigation and high-resolution (HD) maps to automate the advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) that will be integrated into the Tata Motors Software-Defined Vehicle platform spread throughout India.
The agreement that is now public through a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE), mentions that the licensing model is used. As a result, Genesys will be compensated for each unit of a vehicle sold.
The terms of the transaction were agreed upon independently without any related-party interests, so there is no question of transfer pricing or conflict of interests which implies that both the organizations are transparent and are in strategic alignment.
