This strategic acquisition reduces the company's dependency on imports while strengthening its manufacturing capabilities.
The company has also formed strategic international partnerships, including a Rs1bn agreement with Slovakian rolling stock manufacturer Tatravagónka, which took a 26% stake in Jupiter Group's rolling stock manufacturing subsidiary and castings business Jupiter Alloys & Steel India. This collaboration has led to a USD 300 million investment in a new facility in Odisha to expand railway wheel production capacity, aiming to reduce import dependency and boost exports.
