Vikram Solar, a leading Indian solar photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturer, has clinched a significant 326.625 MW solar module supply order from Gujarat Industries Power Company Limited (GIPCL) for the Khavda Renewable Energy Park in Gujarat. This landmark deal strengthens Vikram Solar’s pivotal role in India’s renewable energy sector, bringing its total contribution to approximately 577 MW, according to a company statement.
These solar panels, set to roll out in the 2025-26 financial year, will help light up the Khavda Renewable Energy Park, a huge project that’s a cornerstone of Gujarat’s green energy dreams. Gujarat is a rockstar in India’s renewable energy efforts, holding 10.5% of the nation’s renewable potential. This park is a vital part of India’s plan to hit 500 gigawatts of clean energy by 2030, cutting back on fossil fuels and helping the planet.
Gyanesh Chaudhary, Chairman and Managing Director of Vikram Solar, emphasized the enduring partnership with GIPCL, stating, “This order reinforces our strong relationship and symbolizes a collective commitment to energy security and sustainability.” The collaboration highlights Vikram Solar’s reputation for delivering cutting-edge, reliable solar solutions.
Based in Kolkata, Vikram Solar runs high-tech factories in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, churning out 4.5 gigawatts of panels now, with plans to ramp up to 15.5 gigawatts by 2027. Their gear is used in 39 countries, and they’re known for neat tricks like panels that catch sunlight on both sides. Lately, they’ve also snagged a 1-gigawatt deal with JSW Neo Energy and a 397.7 MW order for another Khavda project with NTPC, proving they’re a force in the solar industry.
As India goes all-in on green energy, projects like Khavda are a big deal for cleaner air and energy freedom. Vikram Solar’s work is helping India shine as a leader in the renewable energy revolution.
