Indian Railways has given a giant contract of 273.24 crore to Titagarh Rail Systems. They are going to provide 62 Rail Borne Maintenance Vehicles.
The victory will demonstrate that the corporation is expanding in the rapidly developing railway equipment business in India.
The order also comprises the design, manufacture, delivery, testing and commencement of use of these vehicles which are required to carry out inspection, repair and renewal of the parts of the railway. The vehicles are highly significant in terms of safety and reliability.

They assist in the inspection of tracks, overhead line maintenance and fast repairs. With this contract, Titagarh Rail Systems can penetrate the railway maintenance and safety equipment market, which is not the current emphasis on wagons, coaches and other rolling stock. Production of the vehicles is not the only part of the contract.
It also includes the training of the Indian Railways workers, providing of spare parts and the full after sales support. It is a lifecycle partnership in the project. Based on the order, deliveries will begin in less than 15 months and all, including parts, will be completed in 48 months. Industry perspective, this order indicates that Indian railways continues to upscale maintenance facilities as part of its expansion of the modernization process.
