Tata Power, VECV Partner to Boost Electric Commercial Vehicles

Tata Power EV Charging Solutions (TPEVCSL), a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy, and VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) have entered into an MoU in a strategic move to accelerate the process of uptake of electric commercial vehicles in India. The partnership is aimed at facilitating the process of switching to electric mobility, starting with the recently introduced Eicher Pro X line of Small Commercial Vehicles.

The collaboration is set to target the blocks the commercial sector faces directly to make EVs available to everyone, including range anxiety, availability of the charging infrastructure, and cost optimization. Tata Power will capitalize on its vast EV charging network and personalized charging programs, whereas VECV will contribute its experience with energy efficiency so that electric trucks and buses are tailored to the needs of end users.

An important part of this plan is the active engagement in work with customers of Eicher Trucks and Buses to facilitate the introduction of EVs into transport processes. The businesses will also enable the implementation of other designs in the electric vehicle range offered by Eicher, and this will also increase the choice of fleet operators who want to find a sustainable approach to mobility.
