An agreement has been reached between Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam (RVUNL) and Truere Knight, a subsidiary of Oriana Power, to construct a 50 MW/100 MWh standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) at the Heerapura substation in Jaipur. Grid efficiency and stability will increase as a result of this initiative.
The goal of the battery storage system is to lower the danger of blackouts while balancing the supply and demand for electricity. A more reliable and effective grid will be supported by the BESS, which will be implemented on a build-own-operate (BOO) model. With an estimated viability gap funding of Rs 27 crore, the project, which has a value of Rs 188.61 crore, is projected to be finished in 18 months.
Oriana Power's emphasis on developing clean energy technology and fortifying its position in the battery storage sector is demonstrated by this arrangement. Since the transaction is not a related party transaction, the company also made it clear that the promoter group has no financial stake in RVUNL, guaranteeing transparency.
Projects like these are essential to assisting India's energy transformation because of the rising demand for dependable electricity. With creative and sustainable solutions, Oriana Power's battery storage project in Jaipur seeks to assist in addressing these issues.
