In order to provide students and teachers with future-ready skills in green energy and e-mobility, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has partnered with Shell India to offer skills training in green skills and electric vehicles (EV). In a statement released on Friday, MSDE stated that the Edunet Foundation, Shell's training partner, and the directorate general of training (DGT) under MSDE will carry out the initiative across a number of industrial training institutes (ITIs) and national skill training institutes (NSTIs) in Delhi-NCR, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka.
In order to provide practical training and expert-led sessions that are in line with industry requirements, specialized EV skill labs will be established within a few ITIs and NSTIs. The program improves participants' employability in the green energy and electric vehicle industries by offering co-branded certificates and placement assistance in addition to lab-based instruction. A structured multi-tier model will be used to deliver green skill training at a few NSTIs and ITIs as part of the partnership. In the initial phase of the initiative, four NSTIs will offer a 240-hour advanced EV technician course, twelve ITIs with Shell-supported labs will offer a 90-hour job-oriented EV skills course, and other ITIs without physical labs will offer a 50-hour fundamental green skills module.
