Mercedes-Benz India Begins Local Production of Maybach GLS

Mercedes-Benz India has declared its intentions to produce locally its luxury SUV the Maybach GLS at its Pune plant. This will be a great move to consolidate its position in the Indian luxury car market.

The high-end luxury vehicle Maybach GLS will be produced with local content which will make it affordable to the Indian consumers.

The company will also set out to supply the Maybach GLS to the selective consumers at a lower competitive price. Mercedes-Benz India believes such move will help it increase its sales and serve the increasing need of the premium cars in India. The locally produced model will also enable the brand to pay high import duties and have the ability to deliver to customers within a shorter time.

Martin Schwenk, the Managing Director and the CEO of Mercedes-Benz India highlighted that this step is an indicator of how the company has been dedicated to the emerging luxury market of India. Not only will the decision to produce the Maybach GLS in the country bring the car closer to consumers, the move will also help the company in achieving its strategy of diversifying its products to suit the taste of the Indian consumers.

The luxury SUV will be presented as one of the vehicles with a variety of high-tech features, such as the latest technology, unprecedented comfort, and high performance.
