Today, Auto Ingress, an automated sensor door specialist located in Australia, announced the opening of a new assembly plant close to Chennai, significantly increasing its manufacturing footprint in India. With a ₹12 cr initial investment, the company opened a 20,000 sq ft assembly facility in Maraimalai Nagar, Tamil Nadu.
For residential, commercial, and industrial clients throughout India, the unit will assemble sliding, swinging, revolving, telescopic, and hermetic doors and gates that are imported as kits from the parent business in Australia. The plant, which can produce about 4,000 units a year, is the initial phase of Auto Ingress’s long-term investment strategy. The company intends to transform this setup growth potential into a full-scale production processes over the course of the next two to three years, with a maximum investment of ₹80 cr.

The size and color of the automatic doors at this company may be completely customized, and they range in price from ₹50,000 to ₹300,000 per unit, with warranties that last for several years. With intentions to grow to Bengaluru and Hyderabad, the initial distribution would concentrate on southern India through dealers, architects, and interior contractors. Estimated 5,000–6,000 automatic sensor door devices are sold in India each year. Between 50% and 70% of this need is what Auto Ingress hopes to achieve.

The company is actively working on plans to construct a larger facility within the next two years, according to Raj Krishna, Managing Director of Auto Ingress. The State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT) granted the business land for the new factory earlier this month.
