Kia India has launched the first-ever plant remote over-the-air (OTA) feature — a revolutionary industry-first technology that allows software updates to be sent to connected vehicles during the manufacturing process itself.
Through this move, Kia reaffirms its dedication to the evolution of intelligent mobility and to offering the customer an improved experience right from the first day.
The innovative feature will go live in the vehicles fitted with the Kia Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (CCNC) platform. By scheduling OTA updates at the factory, Kia guarantees that the software on every car is up to date when it leaves the plant, thus enabling customers to enjoy the latest features and system optimizations from the very first use.
“At Kia, we want to transform the ownership experience by making sure that every car is equipped with the latest software when it exits the factory. This step leads to a more effortless, intelligent, and future-ready experience,” said Atul Sood, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Kia India.

This move echoes Kia's commitment to a highly connected, secure, and customer-friendly mobility solution, thus allowing the production to delivery interval be used for software and security updates – an important step towards next-gen automotive innovation in India.
