At the centre of Sirius Solar’s strategy is its 250 MW automated PV module manufacturing line at Sultanpur, Hyderabad. The facility supports consistent production, repeatable process control and the company’s progression into newer module technologies. The company also has 75,000 sq ft of manufacturing space available, enabling scalability and operational flexibility.
Its portfolio has progressively evolved from conventional polycrystalline modules to advanced monocrystalline formats, including Mono PERC and TOPCon technologies, alongside cut-cell configurations, specialised mini modules and modules up to 670W, subject to the applicable model certifications and commercial availability.
Quality control is embedded throughout the production process. Modules undergo electroluminescence testing to identify internal defects and flash testing to verify electrical output before dispatch. Sirius Solar operates under ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 systems, while eligible module models comply with applicable IEC and BIS requirements and are included in the ALMM. Recognitions such as NSIC, Udyam, GeM-approved vendor status, MSME ZED and ZED Gold Certification further validate its robust quality systems and compliance standards.
These controls matter particularly to EPC partners, institutions and government customers, for whom documentation, traceability and consistent output can be as important as price.
The company’s experience in electronics as an OEM manufacturer and project execution adds an application-level perspective to manufacturing. Feedback from rooftop plants, pumps, street lights and institutional systems returns to the factory as practical design and service insight. Product decisions can therefore be shaped by the conditions customers encounter, not only by performance measured in a laboratory.
Proof Built Across Applications
Sirius Solar’s field record reinforces this positioning. In addition to its extensive experience with rooftop and utility-scale installations, the company has deployed over 9,000 solar pump sets across seven states and supplied more than 50,000 solar street lights.
Rather than treating these as disconnected business lines, Sirius views them as a source of practical operating knowledge. Pumps reveal the demands of agricultural use; street lights test decentralised reliability; rooftops sharpen installation and service discipline; and institutional projects require structured execution and accountability. “A solar solution is never just a module; it is an integrated system where every component must work together reliably over time. Sirius Solar has also successfully executed landmark institutional projects, including 1 MW solar power plants at Sri Annavaram Temple and Sri Simhachalam Temple in Andhra Pradesh, which significantly reduced electricity costs for the temple administrations. Internationally, Sirius Solar completed a 100 kW solar carport at the Ministry of Water and Energy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, under an International Solar Alliance initiative managed by NTPC. Together, these projects demonstrate the company’s ability to work across institutional, public-sector and international delivery environments.
Scale with a Human Outcome
One of the milestones closest to the company’s heart is its contribution to the SOULS programme, undertaken with IIT Bombay and Energy Efficiency Services Limited. Sirius Solar supplied more than 45 lakh solar study lights for students in rural and tribal communities, supporting families with limited or unreliable access to electricity.
The programme’s scale is significant, but its meaning is simple: a manufactured product became a dependable source of light for a child studying after sunset. “When we talk about scale, we are really talking about trust. Each study light had to perform reliably in a child’s home, often in places where alternatives were limited. That experience continues to shape how we think about quality and responsibility”, Rao says.
A Product-Led Next Phase
India’s next phase of solar growth will reward manufacturers that can balance technology, cost, compliance and dependable support. Residential rooftop adoption, agricultural solarisation, commercial and industrial demand and domestic manufacturing policies are expanding the market. At the same time, buyers are becoming more discerning about lifecycle performance and accountability.
