Defense growth ambitions are driving Sigma Advanced Systems to raise its manufacturing capacity and strengthen its international presence.
The Hyderabad-based aerospace and defense manufacturer secured the capital as demand for defense and aerospace components continues to rise.
Spark Capital led the fundraising and placed Rs 360 crore with 23 family offices and ultra-high-net-worth individuals through its equity capital markets platform.
Sigma plans to use the funds to expand capabilities, support international operations and develop technologies for evolving customer requirements. The move follows major acquisitions, export orders and a Rs 3,800 crore Rolls-Royce contract.
Sigma’s preferential allotment gives the company additional capital to pursue its defense growth strategy while expanding production capacity. The company allotted 13,256,470 equity shares at Rs 347 each, including a Rs 337 premium, raising approximately Rs 459.99 crore. Following the issue, Sigma’s paid-up equity share capital increased to Rs 189.49 crore across 189,496,175 shares.
Spark Capital led the transaction and placed Rs 360 crore with 23 family office and UHNI investors. The participation reflects investor interest in Sigma’s order book, technology capabilities and expansion plans within aerospace and defense manufacturing.

Sigma has accelerated its international expansion through acquisitions in the UK. In July, the company acquired Bromford Precision Solutions for £11.89 million, or around Rs 153 crore. The transaction followed its acquisition of Nasmyth Group, adding further aerospace manufacturing and precision engineering capabilities to its international network.
"As global demand for trusted defense and aerospace manufacturing partners continues to grow, we are investing aggressively in expanding our capabilities, strengthening our international footprint and building technologies that support the evolving requirements of our customers," said Sunil Kalidindi, chief executive officer of Sigma Advanced Systems.
The acquisitions support Sigma’s defense growth by expanding its manufacturing base and strengthening its access to international aerospace programs. The company now operates integrated manufacturing facilities across India and the UK, covering precision platforms, subsystems and mission-critical solutions. Its portfolio includes counter-unmanned aerial systems, unmanned aerial systems, missile systems, radar and electronic warfare, avionics and naval systems.
Sigma’s recent order wins provide a clear commercial basis for its capacity expansion. The company secured a Rs 3,800 crore contract from Rolls-Royce to supply aerospace components and has also added multiple export orders from North America.
The company separately secured a USD 104.9 million, or approximately Rs 1,013 crore, export order from a North American customer for next-generation extended-range 155mm base-bleed artillery shell bodies.
These orders give Sigma a stronger platform for defense growth while increasing its exposure to international aerospace and defense supply chains. The company’s expansion also aligns with India’s defense indigenisation drive, which has increased opportunities for domestic manufacturers to develop and export advanced defense products.
