Tuticorin sits in Tamil Nadu, a state that continues to rely on thermal generation to meet rising electricity demand. The 1,200 MW plant adds meaningful capacity to the state’s thermal portfolio. By entrusting full O&M responsibility to Power Mech, Moxie Power Generation secures professional day-to-day management of the facility.
This arrangement helps maintain plant availability and efficiency, aligning with Tamil Nadu’s broader power procurement requirements. Reliable O&M support reduces operational risk and supports consistent power supply into the state grid.
The Tuticorin order follows closely on another recent win. Just a day earlier, Power Mech secured Rs 279.20 crore O&M contract from Telangana Power Generation Corporation Limited for the Yadadri Thermal Power Station. That three-year assignment covers mechanical, electrical, control and instrumentation systems plus ash and coal handling plants.
Together, the two awards demonstrate Power Mech’s expanding role as a preferred O&M partner for large thermal assets across southern India. Shares of Power Mech Projects closed at Rs 2,394.20 on the BSE, rising Rs 34 or 1.44 percent on the day of the announcement. The Tuticorin contract now locks in multi-year cash flows and deepens the company’s relationship with the Adani Group’s power generation vertical.
As Tamil Nadu continues to balance thermal reliability with future energy needs, Power Mech’s five-year mandate at the 2x600 MW Tuticorin plant positions the firm as a key operational partner in the state’s power infrastructure.
