According to official American data, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) issued the required certification for the military supplies and notified the U.S. Congress of the potential sale. The US Government has approved the proposal to supply military hardware worth USD 131 million to India.
They advance US national security and foreign policy interests by building the capacity of foreign security forces to respond to shared challenges mentioned by the DSCA for this mission.
The $131 million worth of equipment from Indo-Pacific Maritime has been approved by the State Department for a sale to India. This aims to improve maritime surveillance and planned promptness in the region, and the transaction comes under the foreign military sale route linked to India-US cooperation through the Indo-Pacific Maritime Domain Awareness programme.
Sea-Vision software, Remote software, Analytic support, Access to Sea-Vision Documentation and other related logistical elements are the components requested by India, but there has been no official notice from the Indian authorities on the proposed sale.
The United States has highlighted that its approval of the $131 million military hardware and logistics deal with India make even with broader foreign policy and national security objectives. The U.S. government clarified that the proposed $131 million defense deal with India will not disrupt the existing military balance in the region.
“This proposed sale of equipment and support will not alter the basic military balance in the region,” the official readout stated. The U.S. also confirmed that the transfer of these assets to India will have no negative impact on its own defense promptness.
