The G.G. Tronics India (GGT), a subsidiary of CG Power and Industrial Solutions, has been awarded a large order totaling Rs 433.34 crore by the Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW), West Bengal, under the government of India, to supply and install the KAVACH, which is the indigenous Train Collision Avoidance System of India.
The order, including taxes, is to be implemented within a year and is an important milestone during the current efforts of ensuring the safety and modernization of the railway in India.
Such a development would enhance the position of GGT as a significant technology partner to Indian Railways, especially in the field of advanced railway signalling and safety systems. KAVACH is a flagship native safety system that aims at avoiding collisions between trains by automatically regulating the speed of trains and braking trains when needed to improve rail safety throughout the railway system.

The extent of the contract entails the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of on-board KAVACH locomotive apparatus as per the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) prescriptions. Besides this, the project includes full wiring, harnessing, cabling and smooth integration with the locomotive KAVACH system and is fully end-to-end deployment ready.
The order also entails an 11-year-long term annual maintenance contract (AMC), which will come into action after the fifth year. The AMC charges based on the contract terms, wherein it is charged at 3% per annum, hence guaranteeing long-run system reliability and performance throughout the deployment life cycle.
This order strengthens G.G. Tronics India in its experience of providing large-scale, safety-critical rail solutions. The project is in line with the overall vision of Indian Railways, which is the adoption of indigenous technologies to enhance passenger safety, operational efficiency, and the resilience of the Indian railway infrastructure.
