India, blessed with fertile soil and nature, stands as an agriculturally strong economy, supported further in this domain by Coir, a natural fiber that is extremely eco-friendly and sustainable in nature. However, several other countries do not possess such agricultural strength, and in these regions, coir is growing in popularity driven by increased consumer awareness, initiatives for expansion of the agricultural sector, and rising demand for biodegradable and organic products for adoption in the agriculture and horticulture industries.
The diversified applications of coir for tackling critical challenges like soil erosion, along with its role as substrate for hydroponics, and alternative for synthetic materials, are further expected to drive demand for the creation of coir rugs, carpets, and geo-textiles. Supportive governmental policies, schemes, and incentives, and setup of the Coir Board of India, play a pivotal role in boosting coir production and exports. India’s trailblazers in this sector, Sushil Global Exports occupies a significant percent of the export market share of the coir industry in South Korea, and is growing rapidly in China and other Far East Asian countries as the leading supplier of coir products and more.
Diverse Product Range
Producing a range of products including low EC coco peat, high EC coco peat, coconut husk chips, 650gm briquettes and buffered cocopeat that are used extensively in agriculture, horticulture and animal bedding, Sushil Global Exports, an ISO 9001:2015 certified company, effectively meets the diverse client needs, while also aligning its offerings with the diverse regulatory standards of global markets. In addition to prioritizing excellent manufacturing practices, the company also invests heavily (in terms of time and resources), in testing and quality assurance. These are two key pillars which help Sushil Global Exports ensure that their products are perfectly aligned with the needs of the clients as well as the country-specific norms. Since every country has unique testing methods, the company caters to these diverse requirements. Moreover, the testing and quality assurance inspections are performed in accordance with the specific kinds of products, which demands specific sieving processes, and must possess specific electrical conductivity and pH values.
Consistency of Manufacturing
Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities located in Pollachi, a highly favorable location for the production of coir products due to easy access to raw materials, water supply, and tropical weather, the company assures production of high-quality products. Currently, Sushil Global Exports supplies over 15,000 tons of product worldwide every year.
The factory setup features fully automatic and modern machinery, with the entire infrastructure carefully planned and designed to handle the latest technology and material handling machines. The machines offer a production capacity of 15000 tons per annum. In addition to production prowess, the company also possesses large concrete yards for drying the coco peat. Additionally, the production unit have also been installed with destoners, which help ensure that even the finest of sand and dust particles are filtered.
“The coir industry thrives because of many automated machines for fiber extraction, defibering, compression and grow bag making. Innovation and research for the drying process at our firm is still under progress as we still follow the traditional method of sun drying for coco peat drying and block compression. Sun drying is effective as it doesn’t affect the quality of the coir pith and gives perfect finished products. However, rains hinder the sun drying process which makes alternate drying process a necessity, which we are pursuing with our R&D divisions”, adds K Sathish.
This facility is supported by a world-class warehouse facility which is located in Chennai and spans over 25,000 sq.ft., with the capacity to hold over 100 containers, allowing the firm to keep the inflow and outflow streamlined, well-planned, and effortless. Beyond infrastructure excellence, the company’s approach towards manufacturing which involves separate divisions for every process directly controlled by higher management and directors, strengthens its product quality.
“We have separate divisions for each and every process for our products. All divisions are directly controlled by senior executives which gives us full control from raw material sources to shipment approval at customer’s end. All of our divisions are filled with young energy as well as experienced staff members who have been in the same industry for a number of years and bring unmatched expertise. Our unique marketing and logistics divisions are located in Chennai which helps us to take full control of pre order and post shipment process, providing a seamless experience for the clients”, adds K Sathish.
