NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Uttar Pradesh to develop renewable energy and green hydrogen projects across the state.
The accord was signed in the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland on January 22, 2026. The partnership will work to enhance the clean energy infrastructure in the state and will assist the national shift of India towards clean sources of energy.
Vijay Kiran Anand, IAS, Chief Executive Officer of Invest UP and DMR Panda, Executive Director of NTPC Green Energy Limited signed the MoU in the presence of the Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Suresh Kumar Khanna. Government elites and NGEL and NTPC representatives were also in attendance.

NTPC Green Energy Limited under the MoU will collaborate with the Uttar Pradesh to identify the opportunities of large-scale renewable energy projects and the development of green hydrogen. The partnership will be a mix of the experiences of NTPC in the field of clean energy technologies and the policy and line of infrastructure development provided by the state that will help to reach the achievements of the strategy of clean energy in Uttar Pradesh.
This collaboration will ensure sustainable industrial development, will be part of the decarbonization agenda of India and will assist in the development of green jobs. NGEL is determined to make India transition to clean energy faster by concentrating on solar, wind, and emerging technologies. This deal reinforces the continued development of a low-carbon, resilient energy future of the nation by NGEL.
