BonV Aero drone manufacturing facility in Odisha is set to reshape India’s growing UAV sector, with the company announcing a INR 300 crore investment to build a large-scale production unit.
The BonV Aero drone manufacturing facility in Odisha will focus on advanced heavy-payload drones designed for logistics, defense, and emergency response, marking a major step in domestic drone production.
BonV Aero said the new unit will generate around 1,000 jobs and support a wider ecosystem of suppliers, engineers, and software developers. The facility is expected to strengthen India’s push toward self-reliance in drone technology while boosting local manufacturing capabilities.
The project will be located near Odisha’s emerging drone infrastructure, including the testing corridor at Rangeilunda. This location gives the company access to real-world testing conditions, which is critical for scaling commercial and defense drone applications. The state government has been actively supporting drone parks and innovation zones, making Odisha a key destination for UAV investments.

"We are not just building a facility, we are building Odisha's gateway into the global UAV economy ... Odisha's youth will play a central role in this," said Satyabrata Satapathy, Co-Founder and CEO of BonV Aero.
The BonV Aero drone manufacturing facility in Odisha also aligns with India’s broader vision of building a low-altitude economy, where drones handle deliveries, surveillance, and disaster management. As demand rises across sectors, the need for reliable, locally built drones is becoming more urgent.
With this move, BonV Aero aims to position itself as a major player in both domestic and global drone markets, while contributing to India’s aerospace and defense growth story.
