Bellatrix Aerospace has raised USD 20 million in fresh funding led by Cactus Partners to scale its satellite propulsion manufacturing, marking a major step in India’s growing private space sector.
The round also saw participation from Hero Investment Office, 35 North Ventures, and Indusbridge Ventures. The latest Bellatrix Aerospace raises USD 20 million development comes as the company transitions from testing its technology to full-scale production.
Known for building advanced satellite propulsion systems, Bellatrix focuses on electric and green propulsion solutions designed for modern satellite missions. The company plans to use the funds to expand its manufacturing infrastructure and build high-throughput production lines. It aims to meet rising global demand driven by low-earth orbit satellite constellations, where efficient propulsion systems are critical for maneuvering and longevity.

Bellatrix operates on a fully integrated model, handling design, development, and testing in-house. This approach has helped reduce production timelines significantly, with current delivery cycles brought down to under six months.
Rohan Ganapathy, cofounder and CEO of Bellatrix Aerospace said, "This investment allows us to increase our annual production capacity significantly, ensuring we remain the most trusted partner for operators requiring propulsion at scale."
"We've moved from flight-proven to factory-ready," said cofounder and COO Yashas Karanam, adding that the company has reduced propulsion system lead times to under six months while improving unit economics.
The funding highlights increasing investor confidence in India’s space tech startup ecosystem, especially in niche areas like propulsion, which remain a key bottleneck in satellite deployment. With this expansion, Bellatrix is positioning itself as a global supplier in the fast-growing satellite propulsion market.
"Bellatrix is a unique asset with a robust history of space technology innovation. Rohan and Yashas have invested more than a decade in creating leading, cost-effective technologies for electric and green propulsion systems," said Amit Sharma, General Partner of Cactus Partners.
