Apollo Micro Systems today announced a ₹3 billion investment to set up a greenfield defense manufacturing facility in Telangana, marking a major move in its long-term growth plan. The project augers well in the pursuit of defense indigenisation by India and enhances the self-reliance objectives of the country.
The new plant will specialize in the development of superior electronic systems and products to be fitted in defense platforms in land, air, naval and space sectors. As it expands, Apollo Micro Systems plans to cater to domestic defense initiatives as well as to export markets, further entering the Indian defense manufacturing business environment that has boomed.

The project will be built in stages and will include the modern infrastructure, automated production lines, advanced testing laboratories and quality systems in accordance with the global defense standards. High-reliability products, to be produced by the plant, will also include avionics electronics, missile guidance and control systems, radar subsystems, electronic warfare solution, and rugged communication equipment suitable in extreme environments.
The Telangana plant will not only build capacity, but also will provide good job opportunities, in particular, to qualified engineers and technicians. The company will also collaborate with the local suppliers, MSMEs, and the academic institutions to construct a robust regional defense value chain.
This investment will enhance the company dedication to the Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat programs through an import reduction and increasing native competences. The new plant will enable Apollo to implement large programs more quickly, with increasing order inflows, and shorter turnaround times with a proven record in the mission-critical defense and space electronics.
