Drone logistics startup Airbound is preparing to raise $30 million in a new funding round led by Greenoaks Capital, marking one of the largest early-stage investments in India’s drone technology sector this year. The round will also see participation from existing investors, including Lightspeed, strengthening Airbound’s capital base as it expands development and testing of its autonomous aircraft systems.
This funding move follows Airbound’s $8.65 million seed round in October, which included contributions from Physical Intelligence co-founder Lachy Groom, Humba Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners and senior figures from leading tech and robotics companies. The rapid follow-up round reflects strong investor interest in drone delivery, autonomous logistics, and next-generation deeptech startups.
Founded in 2023 by Naman Pushp, Airbound is building autonomous logistics aircraft designed for long-range, high-efficiency delivery operations. Its drones use a blended-wing-body tail-sitter drone configuration, enabling vertical take-off and landing while achieving airplane-like forward flight. The aircraft, made from carbon-fibre composites, are engineered to extend range, reduce energy use and increase carrying capacity.
Airbound is currently focused on healthcare drone delivery, including transport of medical supplies and diagnostic samples through pilot deployments. The company plans to expand into e-commerce logistics and quick-commerce delivery by 2026, positioning its system as an alternative to conventional ground-based delivery networks.
The startup is also evaluating future integration with commerce platforms such as ONDC, which would allow consumers and businesses to choose between traditional vehicles and drone-based delivery for time-sensitive shipments.

The fresh investment aligns with rising interest in India’s deeptech ecosystem, where sectors such as robotics, aerospace, and autonomous systems are attracting increased funding and policy support. With this upcoming round, Airbound aims to accelerate manufacturing, strengthen navigation and autonomy systems, and scale field operations for broader commercial adoption.
